  1. The flowers make it look very spring-like. Is it actually considered spring there? Will the weather get a lot hotter over the next months?

yes, it is spring here. Summer is fast approaching & with it the hot temps. It is pretty hot now, but the summertime highs are 90’s/100’s depending on where I am.

The small little daisy like flowers look like chamomile flowers. I love flower pictures thanks for sharing. My son is there in Afghanistan. When he was at Sweeney I asked him if he had seen any birds? Have you seen any? The only one he saw was back in December & it was a black and white bird- NO PICS though :/

Loots of birds, mostly little brown sparrow-looking birds and doves. I have also seen the black & white ones. I think I have pictures of them – I will look.

  5. Bravo on the moon shot! Two nights ago, here in singapore, the moon was so bright and close that the clouds around were illuminated in pale yellow, it was beautiful and the best part, I failed to take a shot of it, hahaha!
Absolutely in awe with the cloud of sun rays coming from the back – classic relation to God, just puts me in a stall to just look and feel the emotion captured in this photo!
You and Patricia are inspiring me to take shot of the flowers – thank YOU πŸ˜€

Thank you. I missed the best shot of the moon, as it was crsting the mountain ridge. I saw it, it was huge and spectacular, but i was not able to get my camera to shoot it. This shot was a couple hours later & it was much ‘smaller’. Another problem is I am not sure I have the axis correct. when I download the pictures they auto-rotate to the correct position, but the computer doesn’t know what is the right roation & some were rotated, some were not. I had to guess what was correct!

      • Great shot nonetheless but don’t we just want to capture what our own eye sees. The big bright moon is up tonight and my camera is out on my desk, am going to take a shot later to share with you tomorrow πŸ™‚ I just hope the clouds will align themselves nicely, lol! Keep safe and going strong over there!

I look forward to it! Thanks.

Dan, you have some really awesome photographs here and i must commend you especially on that super moon shot … handheld with no tripod, wow you truly have got a steady aim for sure … i took some shots of that moon here from the Chicago area on a cloudy, windy night but the only ones that came out any good were from a tripod mounted video camera … the movement of the clouds and simultaneous glow from the moon was truly something to behold … thanks again for sharing, take care and a have a good one … Jimi

^^^^ Yes …….but having an “eye” to capture the scene is the key to your success.
