On the Plane

no, not that plane…

This is just a little post with some pictures from the C-17 that I rode from KAF to Kuwait.  It was a pretty decent ride, there were a lot of empty seats, so we were able to spread out to some degree.  C-17’s are infinitely more comfortable than C-130’s; less noise, more consistent temperatures and almost twice as fast.  The ride to Kuwait was only about 3.5 hours long, so we landed just 2 hours (on clock time) after we took off.

My plane from Kuwait to the States will be a civilian contracted airplane.  Sometimes they are really nice, sometimes they are average…but even at average they are preferrable to the USAF rides…most of the time.

Doesn’t look comfy at all! Doesn’t look like you can walk around each other. I’m surprised no one is sleeping on the pallets!

  2. Wow that one picture is pretty cool looking!

Gosh, I’m with Jules on that – that flight doesn’t look all that comfy! I hope that your longhaul flight to the States will have proper seats? Like in a normal civilian aircraft? Perhaps even with in-flight entertainment? 🙂 Wishing you a safe return to the States and a joyful reunion with your loved ones.
