High above Afghanistan

I discovered that I uploaded these pictures, but never posted them.  I took them on my flight back to FOB Apache on 18 May 12.  I am sure I had an incredibly great idea to write about that would tie into the pictures, but that was far too long ago for me to recall.  So instead I will simply post the gallery.  Some of these would be above Kandahar & some Zabul.  If there is a lot of green it is probably Kandahar.

    What an incredibly harsh and barren landscape… I can’t imagine living out there in the desert. The houses look so unusual, the way they’re built out of mud/clay(?) – and the green of the land near the river courses is just incredible. Thank you for sharing, and wishing you a safe time in the coming months!
