My trip to Mizan was uneventful, which is always a good thing, but it doesn’t leave me with a story to tell…
To compensate for the lack of a good (or even mediocre) story, I will post extra pictures.

The crater like openings into a Karez
The Qalat lumberyard from the air
the winter wheat is ready for harvest
Another view of the Castle
A new angle on Alexander the Great’s Castle
you can see the faint hint of vegetation as you near the mountains
the barren landscape outside of Qalat
the subtle color changes and the rugged beauty of the mountains fascinate me
The Tarnak river through Qalat
a grape hut near Qalat
Thanks for looking!

you are welcome. Thank you for your comments
Do you have any pictures of the Fob Apache in April, May or June 2012? I see the sunset and sunrise and the castle. I was just wondering if I miss them. Thanks for all the picture you share. Always wondered what Afg. looked like. Thank again
I know I have not taken any new pictures of FOB Apache since April. If you look at my posts from March & April you will find photos of the FOB.
Incredible photos, Dan. The countryside there seems to be so different, so incomprehensibly vast…
It is quite striking. Thanks for your comments
