I took a quick trip to KAF the other day. We flew from Apache to Mizan then on to KAF. Uneventful flight & it went by without a hitch.
I was on on a civilian aircraft & all the windows were in place so these were taken through the stained, scratch plexiglass window.

I’m glad you captioned these photos, I wouldn’t have figured out the wheat fields nor the grape drying hut.
Me neither! Some of those structures look like they’re built out of sand! Great Photos!
they are built out of sand…well, more like sand colored mud. It isn’t sand like the beach, but it is the silty/clay/sand that is what covers the ground. They simply mix it with water & crushed up twigs/grass & start building!
