I do not have much time left in Afghanistan and for the most part, I will be finishing up my time living at FOB Al Masaak. Although I won’t be here for long, I decided to make it a little more comfortable then just a big open tent.
I sectioned off the back 1/3 of the tent to give me a private office/sleeping area. I then built a short stub wall to provide a small partition for my sleeping area. I had considered fully enclosing it, making two separate rooms, but building materials are not plentiful here so it was best to conserve. That is also why I am using a table and an old Army field desk versus making a work station.
It isn’t as nice as what we built at Apache, but it will do for the next few weeks.

My next home will be my real home back in Minnesota! I will have several stops before I get there – Apache, KAF, Camp Atterbury, Minneapolis & possibly a few more…but it won’t be long & I will be sleeping in my own bed!
