Things that go BOOM!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

The other day I posted a few pictures of the Soldiers from C Battery, 1-37 Field Artillery shooting their M777 Howitzer, more commonly called the ‘Triple 7’.  It is the 155mm gun that replaced the M198 Howitzer a few years ago.

The Soldiers were conducting a ‘certification fire’, which is to say they were being tested on their ability to do their jobs as Artillerymen.

It has been several years since I have been around the big guns firing and so it was a good way to end the day here at Forward Operating Base Al Masaak

As you can see in the pictures, the gun packs a punch and really kicks up the dust!

Thanks for looking!
